AOV Solar Camera, "IA" and Aurey: A Wholesale Sourcing Guide for Importers

TL;DR

AOV means Always-On Video, "IA" is simply Spanish for AI, and Aurey is a retail brand. Here is what those terms mean at factory level, with 49 AOV SKUs and wholesale prices quoted per order.

What the search terms actually mean

If you searched some combination of AOV solar camera, IA camera and a retail brand name like Aurey, you are almost certainly looking at the same product category from three different directions. AOV stands for Always-On Video: continuous 24/7 recording at low standby power, made possible by AI scene analysis deciding what deserves full-rate capture rather than waking the sensor only when a PIR motion detector fires. "IA" is not a model line or a chipset — it is simply inteligencia artificial, the Spanish rendering of AI, which is why the term turns up in Latin American listings and datasheets. Aurey is a consumer retail brand sold in Mexico and nearby markets; like most brands at that level it does not operate a camera factory. What buyers are usually trying to establish with this search is whether the AOV solar camera they saw on a retail shelf can be sourced directly, in volume, under their own label. It can. AOV is an industry-generic architecture, not anyone's proprietary technology, and it is available at factory pricing with private labelling from the first production run.

SolaGuard is the wholesale brand of Shenzhen Leksell, established 2012 and certified by TÜV Rheinland, with CE, FCC and RoHS on the product side. Of a 150-SKU catalogue, 49 SKUs are AOV models, with wholesale prices quoted per order. Everything below describes those 49.

AOV versus PIR: the difference that shows up in a claim

PIR-triggered solar cameras dominated the first wave of off-grid security because they were the only way to make a battery last. The trade-off is structural, not a tuning problem:

  • Slow movement often fails to trigger. A person walking a fence line at a steady pace, or a vehicle rolling in neutral, can produce too little thermal change across the sensor's detection pattern to wake the camera.
  • Events outside the detection zone are never recorded at all. PIR covers a cone. Anything happening to the side of it, or beyond its effective range, leaves no footage — not low-quality footage, none.
  • The seconds before the trigger are gone. By the time the camera wakes, encodes and starts writing, the approach is already over. That approach is usually the part an insurer or a police report needs.

AOV changes the default from "asleep until something is detected" to "recording, with AI deciding what is significant." For agricultural, construction and logistics customers — the bulk of off-grid demand in Vietnam and Latin America — this is the difference between a camera that documents an incident and one that confirms something happened without showing what.

It matters commercially too. AOV is the single easiest upsell in a solar camera line, because the failure mode of PIR is something end users have usually already experienced.

The four AOV series, with exact counts and prices

All figures below are literal catalogue values. Check them against the individual product pages before you quote a customer.

Series Variants Battery Solar panel Imaging Rating
SG-C41G-10T66-V* 4 8000mAh 8W 2K (2.0MP) IP66
SG-D42G-10F66-V* 18 8000mAh 8W 2K (2.0MP×2 dual lens) IP66
SG-D42G-15F66-V* 16 20000mAh 15W 2K (2.0MP×2 dual lens) IP66
SG-S43G-10T66-V* 11 8000mAh 8W 2K (2.0MP×3 triple lens) IP66

Three specific models to anchor a first quote:

  • SG-C41G-10T66-V1. Single-sensor 2K, 8000mAh, 8W, IP66. The entry point into AOV, and the right unit for a distributor testing whether their market will pay the AOV premium over a PIR model.
  • SG-D42G-10F66-V1. Dual lens 2K, 8000mAh, 8W, IP66. The volume seller in most catalogues: two fields of view from one mount and one SIM.
  • SG-D42G-15F66-V1. Dual lens 2K on the 20000mAh / 15W platform. This is the configuration to lead with in low-sun seasons and shaded installs, and the one to specify when the customer's site cannot be revisited easily.

Storage across the AOV range is microSD up to 128GB as standard; larger cards are a custom-order conversation, not a stock item. Resolution is 1080p–2K standard, with 4K available only as a custom or OEM build. Weatherproofing is IP66 across all 49 — if a competing datasheet claims a higher ingress rating on an otherwise identical housing, ask which lab issued it and on which enclosure revision.

Reading the platform, not the price

Notice that the price ranges do not sort cleanly by lens count. The 20000mAh / 15W dual-lens series starts above the triple-lens 8000mAh series. That is the power platform, not the optics, driving the cost — and it is the variable most buyers underweight. Optics sell the unit in a showroom; the battery and panel decide whether it is still recording in the fourth week of overcast weather, which is what decides your return rate.

OEM and private label

OEM and private label are available on all models, including all 49 AOV SKUs. For importers building their own brand rather than reselling ours, the commercial frame is:

Item Terms
MOQ, trial order 10 units
MOQ, OEM/ODM 100 units
Dealer margin 20% from ~10 units, 30% from ~50 units
Samples 7–10 days by air
Bulk production 25–40 days by sea
Vietnam delivery 7–10 business days

The factory builds to specification beyond the stock catalogue — higher resolution, larger battery and panel pairings, more storage, your own app branding and packaging. Quantity, price and lead time for anything custom always come from a person, never from a spec sheet. Full terms are on the wholesale page, and the tier structure is set out under dealer programs.

A practical sequencing note: run the trial order on stock SKUs before committing to a branded build. Ten units in the hands of your own installers will tell you more about which series fits your market than any amount of catalogue comparison, and it costs you nothing in tooling.

Spec traps when you compare quotes

Buyers in this category get burned in a small number of repeatable ways. Every one of these is checkable before you pay a deposit.

  1. Battery capacity that no cell format in the housing could deliver. If a quoted capacity looks dramatic next to a body of the same size, ask for the cell configuration and the weight. Across our AOV range the real numbers are 8000mAh and 20000mAh; nothing above that exists in the line, and we do not quote figures we cannot ship.
  2. Storage ceilings the firmware does not actually support. A card slot accepting a card is not the same as the firmware indexing it reliably. Ask what capacity the supplier will warrant, not what physically fits.
  3. An ingress rating on the datasheet but not on the certificate. Ask for the test report, and check that the model number on it matches the model you are buying.
  4. "AI detection" with no stated behaviour. AOV is a recording architecture; AI classification is what decides which events get flagged. Ask specifically what the camera does when it classifies something — notify, record at full rate, both — and confirm it on a sample.
  5. Certifications held by the trading company, not the factory. Shenzhen Leksell has held TÜV Rheinland certification since well before this product category existed. A certificate issued to an intermediary tells you nothing about the line your units come off.

One more that is easy to miss: installation time. These units mount in 5–10 minutes per camera — no grid power run, no WiFi provisioning, no trenching. For a distributor whose customers are farms, ranches, construction sites and rural properties, that number is part of the product, because it is what makes a multi-camera site economic to serve with one technician and one visit.

Where to start

If the search that brought you here was reconnaissance on a retail product, the short version is that the category is sourceable directly and the pricing is well below what brand-level retail implies. Start with the AOV models in the catalogue, pick one 8000mAh/8W unit and one 20000mAh/15W unit, and put them on real sites in your own market for a month. The trial MOQ of 10 units exists precisely so that decision costs a sample order rather than a container.
