TL;DR

An AOV range groups always-on video cameras by power budget, not optics. Here are the four SolaGuard series — 49 models, 8000-20000mAh, 8W/15W, 2K, IP66 — and which one fits your site.

What an AOV Range Is, in One Paragraph

An "AOV range" is a manufacturer's family of Always-On Video cameras — solar-powered, battery-backed, 4G LTE units that record continuously at low standby power instead of waking on a PIR trigger. Every AOV range on the market, ours included, is organised by power budget first (battery capacity and solar panel wattage) and by optics second (single, dual or triple lens), because continuous recording is a power problem before it is an image problem. SolaGuard's AOV range is 49 SKUs across four series: batteries of 8000mAh or 20000mAh, panels of 8W or 15W, 2K resolution throughout, IP66 housings. If you arrived here comparing a big-brand AOV line against a factory-direct alternative, the grid below is the like-for-like comparison to run.

AOV is an industry-generic term, not a brand feature. Any vendor can use it, which is exactly why the label on the box tells you almost nothing and the battery, panel and duty cycle tell you almost everything. If the concept itself is new to you, start with what AOV means and how it differs from motion-triggered recording.

If you meant "range" as in distance

The same word does double duty. If you were searching for detection or viewing distance rather than the product line-up, the honest answer is that no AOV camera has a single fixed range: usable distance depends on lens focal length, sensor resolution, mounting height and — at night — how far the illuminator throws. A 2K sensor gives you roughly twice the pixel density on target that 1080p does at the same field of view, which is why a 2K camera reads a number plate or a face further out than a 1080p one on the same pole. Multi-lens models extend coverage sideways rather than forward: a dual-lens unit widens the scene, a triple-lens unit wraps it. Treat any single "metres" figure in a datasheet as a lab number and specify by scene instead.

The Four Series, Side by Side

This is the complete AOV range. Nothing is omitted and nothing is rounded.

Series Variants Battery Solar panel Optics Resolution Ingress
SG-C41G-10T66-V* 4 8000mAh 8W Single lens 2K (2.0MP) IP66
SG-D42G-10F66-V* 18 8000mAh 8W Dual lens (2.0MP×2) 2K IP66
SG-D42G-15F66-V* 16 20000mAh 15W Dual lens (2.0MP×2) 2K IP66
SG-S43G-10T66-V* 11 8000mAh 8W Triple lens (2.0MP×3) 2K IP66

Four series, 49 models. Read across a row and you can see the logic of the range: three of the four series share an 8000mAh battery and an 8W panel, and one series — the 16-variant SG-D42G-15F66 line — steps up to 20000mAh with a 15W panel. That single step is the most consequential decision in the whole catalogue, and it is worth more than any optical upgrade if your site is short of sun.

The wider catalogue runs to 150 SKUs; the 49 above are the AOV subset. Everything else is PIR-triggered or mains-adjacent, and if continuous recording is not a hard requirement you should not pay the power premium for it.

Battery and Panel: Where the Range Actually Splits

Continuous recording does not have an off state. A PIR camera spends most of its life asleep and draws real current only when something moves; an AOV camera keeps the sensor and the AI scene analysis running so it can record slow movement, loitering and events that start outside a trigger zone. That changes the arithmetic completely — the panel has to refill the battery every single day, not top it up occasionally.

So the practical question is not "which battery is bigger" but "how many low-light days does this site get in a row".

  • 8000mAh with an 8W panel suits sites with reliable direct sun and an unobstructed south-facing (or north-facing, below the equator) mount: open yards, fence lines, rooftops, farm gates in dry-season climates.
  • 20000mAh with a 15W panel is the choice for monsoon seasons, tree shade, short winter days, high latitudes, or any pole you cannot re-visit easily. The larger panel also recovers the battery faster after a cloudy stretch, which matters more than the headline capacity.

Those are the only two power configurations in the range. There is no larger battery and no larger panel in the standard catalogue — if you have seen bigger figures quoted for "AOV cameras" generally, they are not from this factory, and a spec you cannot buy is not a spec. For a deeper treatment of duty cycle, recharge behaviour and why AOV power budgets are sized the way they are, see what an AOV battery has to do.

Optics: One, Two or Three Lenses

All 49 AOV models are 2K. The differentiator inside the range is how many sensors share the housing.

Single lens (SG-C41G-10T66-V*, 4 variants). One scene, one stream, the lowest power draw of the four series. Correct for a gate, a doorway, a single approach road or a till area — anywhere the thing you are watching is in one place.

Dual lens (SG-D42G-10F66-V*, 18 variants; SG-D42G-15F66-V*, 16 variants). Two 2.0MP sensors, typically pairing a wide overview with a tighter view, so you get context and detail from one pole and one SIM. This is the biggest part of the range — 34 of the 49 models — because it is what most buyers actually need. SG-D42G-15F66-V1 is the reference configuration: dual lens, 20000mAh, 15W.

Triple lens (SG-S43G-10T66-V*, 11 variants). Three 2.0MP sensors covering a wide arc from a single mount. Yard corners, crossroads, forecourts and open perimeters where you would otherwise need two or three separate cameras, three separate SIMs and three separate installs.

A quick way to decide: count the poles you would need with single-lens units. If the answer is more than one for the same viewpoint, a dual or triple lens is cheaper to own even before you count SIM lines.

Storage, Connectivity and Weatherproofing Across the Range

These are constant across all 49 models, which makes them easy to plan around.

Item Specification What it means in practice
Local storage microSD up to 128GB Continuous recording overwrites oldest first; choose resolution and frame rate to hit your retention window
Connectivity 4G LTE, SIM per camera No WiFi and no grid power required; each unit is independent
Weatherproofing IP66 Dust-tight, protected against powerful water jets — rated for pole and wall mounting outdoors
Installation 5–10 minutes per camera Mount, insert SIM and card, aim the panel, pair the app
Warranty 24 months on every product One tier across the whole catalogue; there is no extended option to negotiate

Two notes worth planning for. First, because AOV writes constantly, your retention window is a function of card capacity and recording settings, not of how busy the scene is — size it deliberately rather than assuming a motion-triggered card's endurance. Where you need longer retention than a card allows, plan for cloud or an on-site recorder rather than hoping for a higher-capacity card. Second, each camera consumes mobile data continuously while streaming or uploading. Data costs are your local carrier's, not ours, and they vary widely by country and plan — get a quote from the carrier before you scale past a handful of units, because at fleet size the SIM bill can exceed the hardware.

Buying From the Range

SolaGuard is factory-direct: we are an OEM/ODM supplier, and production sits with our partner Shenzhen Leksell, TÜV Rheinland certified and established in 2012, with CE, FCC and RoHS compliance. That is the practical difference from buying a branded AOV line through distribution — you are specifying against the factory rather than against a catalogue someone else fixed.

  • Samples and small orders. Standard catalogue orders start from around 10 units, and samples are available before you commit. Samples ship air in 7–10 days; bulk goes by sea in 25–40 days. Inside Vietnam, delivery is 7–10 business days from our Ho Chi Minh City office.
  • Custom and private label. Higher resolution (4K is available as a custom/OEM build, not from stock), a bigger battery or panel, more storage, your logo, your packaging, your firmware — all available on any model in the range, including all 49 AOV SKUs, at an MOQ of 100 units.
  • Pricing. We do not publish a price band, and you should be wary of anyone who does without knowing your quantity, configuration and destination. Quantity pricing comes from a person: dealer margin starts at 20% from around 10 units and steps to 30% from around 50. Note that the 50-unit margin step and the 100-unit OEM threshold are separate things — reaching 50 units does not unlock private label.

If you want the full background on how always-on recording differs from motion capture and how to size a system around it, the AOV solar camera guide is the pillar reference, and this comparison of branded AOV lines against sourcing direct covers the trade-offs from a buying perspective.
