TL;DR

AOV is not a Long Plus feature name — it is the generic term for Always-On Video recording. Here is what it means on a spec sheet, and the 49 AOV SKUs a wholesale buyer can quote against.

What "Long Plus" and "AOV" actually mean on a solar camera spec sheet

Long Plus is one of several Chinese consumer brands selling solar-powered 4G security cameras through online marketplaces, and AOV in those listings is not a Long Plus technology. AOV stands for Always-On Video: an industry-generic term for a battery camera that records continuously at low standby power, using AI scene analysis to stay awake cheaply, instead of sleeping until a PIR sensor trips. Any competent factory can build an AOV camera — the acronym describes recording behaviour, not a brand. So if you are an importer or distributor comparing a marketplace listing against a factory quote, the acronym tells you almost nothing on its own. What matters is the battery, the panel, the sensor and the ingress rating behind it. SolaGuard, manufactured by Shenzhen Leksell (established 2012; TÜV Rheinland certified, plus CE, FCC and RoHS), publishes 49 AOV SKUs with those four figures declared per model and wholesale prices quoted per order, which is the level of disclosure you should demand from any supplier on this product category.

Why AOV exists at all

PIR-triggered solar cameras are cheap on power and unreliable on evidence. A passive infrared sensor fires on a heat differential crossing its detection zone, which means it routinely misses the three events buyers actually care about:

  • Slow movement. Someone walking a fence line at a crawl, or a vehicle rolling in neutral, may never produce a fast enough thermal change to trip the sensor.
  • Out-of-zone events. Anything that happens inside the frame but outside the PIR cone is simply not recorded — the camera saw it and did not know it.
  • Cold or shielded targets. Ambient temperatures close to body temperature flatten the differential the sensor depends on. In tropical Vietnam and much of Latin America, this is not an edge case.

AOV replaces the trigger with continuous capture: the sensor never stops, and on-device AI decides what to mark, what to upload and what to keep at reduced bitrate. For a farm perimeter, a construction site at night or a logistics yard, the difference is between a clip library with holes in it and a timeline you can scrub.

What AOV costs in power budget

Continuous recording draws more than sleep-and-wake, and that cost has to come out of the battery and panel. This is where honest sourcing separates from marketing. Across the SolaGuard AOV range there are exactly two power configurations: 8000mAh paired with an 8W panel, and 20000mAh paired with a 15W panel. Nothing above 20000mAh exists in the range, and any supplier quoting a dramatically larger cell on a comparable price point is either shipping a different chemistry rating standard or overstating it.

The practical rule: the 8W/8000mAh configuration suits sites with clean, unobstructed sun most of the day. Sites with partial shading, long monsoon or wet-season stretches, or a pole orientation you cannot control should be quoted on the 15W/20000mAh configuration. Buying up on power is far cheaper than a truck roll to a dead camera on a ranch two hours from town.

Reading an AOV spec sheet like a buyer, not a consumer

Line item SolaGuard AOV standard What to check on any quote
Resolution 1080p–2K standard; 4K only as custom/OEM Is 4K the shipping SKU or a roadmap item? Ask for the SKU number.
Battery 8000mAh or 20000mAh Which cell ships with your variant, not the flagship.
Solar panel 8W or 15W Panel wattage is often omitted; a large battery with an undersized panel never recovers.
Storage microSD up to 128GB standard; higher-capacity cards on custom orders Confirm the maximum the firmware actually mounts, not the slot's theoretical ceiling.
Weatherproofing IP66 on outdoor models A higher ingress rating claimed without a test report is a red flag, not a feature.
Connectivity 4G LTE, no grid power and no WiFi required Band support for your market's carriers, in writing.
Installation 5–10 minutes per camera Ask what the installer needs on site. Anything requiring trenching is not a solar 4G value proposition.

The reason to be this pedantic is commercial, not technical. Your customer will compare your datasheet to a marketplace listing, and the marketplace listing will be more generous. You win that comparison by being checkable, not by matching an inflated number.

The 49 AOV SKUs, by series

SolaGuard's AOV line is organised into four series. The counts and prices below are exhaustive:

Series Variants Battery Panel Imaging Rating
SG-C41G-10T66-V* 4 8000mAh 8W 2K (2.0MP) IP66
SG-D42G-10F66-V* 18 8000mAh 8W 2K (2.0MP×2 dual lens) IP66
SG-D42G-15F66-V* 16 20000mAh 15W 2K (2.0MP×2 dual lens) IP66
SG-S43G-10T66-V* 11 8000mAh 8W 2K (2.0MP×3 triple lens) IP66

Three reference models for quoting purposes: SG-C41G-10T66-V1 (single sensor, 8000mAh, 8W) is the entry point into AOV; SG-D42G-10F66-V1 adds the second lens on the same power budget; SG-D42G-15F66-V1 is the dual-lens unit on the 20000mAh/15W platform for difficult sun, with wholesale prices quoted per order. Full specifications per variant are on the product catalogue, which covers 150 SKUs in total — the AOV models are the higher-specified portion of it.

Matching series to deployment

  • Single lens (SG-C41G): fixed-view coverage where you already know what needs watching — a gate, a doorway, a single equipment bay. Lowest unit cost, and the easiest SKU to stack in volume for a first order.
  • Dual lens (SG-D42G): the workhorse. Two 2.0MP sensors give you a wide scene plus a detail view from one pole and one SIM, which is usually cheaper per covered square metre than two single-lens cameras. This is also why it is the largest part of the range — 34 variants across the two power platforms.
  • Triple lens (SG-S43G): for wide, open sites — ranch perimeters, parking areas, yard corners — where one mounting point has to cover a broad arc and the alternative is three separate installs, three SIMs and three sets of maintenance.

OEM and private label on AOV models

OEM and private label are available across all 49 AOV SKUs, not just the base models. That covers branding, packaging and documentation, and extends to hardware changes at spec — higher resolution than the 1080p–2K standard, larger battery and panel pairings, or greater storage capacity — which are quoted as custom builds rather than pulled from stock. The catalogue is what ships from inventory; the factory is what builds to your requirement.

The commercial framework is straightforward. MOQ is 10 units for a trial order and 100 for OEM/ODM. Dealer margin runs 20% from around 10 units and 30% from around 50, and since private label starts at 100 units, a distributor stepping up to a branded line is already past the better margin tier in that same order. Quantity-specific pricing, custom tooling costs and any spec deviation are always quoted by a person; the site does not price custom builds, and neither should any supplier that has not seen your drawing. Tier details are on the dealer programme page.

Lead time and logistics for Vietnam and Latin America

Stage Timing
Samples, air freight 7–10 days
Bulk production, sea freight 25–40 days
Vietnam domestic delivery 7–10 business days

The Vietnam office is in Ho Chi Minh City. There is no Hanoi warehouse and no Bangkok warehouse — if a supplier claims regional stock, ask which entity holds it and who clears customs, because that determines whether your "in-stock" order is genuinely 7–10 business days or 25–40 days with a friendlier label on it.

For Latin American buyers, plan the first cycle as a sample order in parallel with your carrier certification checks, not sequentially. Air-freighted samples arriving in 7–10 days give you time to test 4G band compatibility and AOV upload behaviour on local networks while the bulk order is still a decision rather than a container.

A short due-diligence checklist for any solar AOV supplier

  1. Ask for the SKU, not the series. A price quoted against a series name is not a quote. Battery and panel differ inside a series in this category.
  2. Get the certification scope in writing. TÜV Rheinland, CE, FCC and RoHS should map to the models you are buying, with certificate numbers you can verify.
  3. Test AOV on your own network. Continuous recording is a data-plan question as much as a hardware one. Run a sample on the SIM your customers will actually use.
  4. Time the install yourself. 5–10 minutes per camera is achievable because there is no cabling and no WiFi pairing. If a unit takes an installer an hour, your deployment economics change completely.
  5. Confirm what happens on a warranty claim before the first container, not after it.

Buyers who have already run those checks and want volume pricing can start from the wholesale page or email info@solaguard.net with the SKUs and quantities you intend to test.
